PRARIETON, IN (WIBQ) - Police have a bizarre case on their hands. Early Thursday morning someone shot and killed 59 year old Albert Kiger at his home in southern Vigo County. According to the Coroner's Office Kiger died to multiple gunshot wounds just hours after he was treated at Regional Hospital after apparently being stabbed by a pitchfork.
Then during the early morning hours on Thursday police say Kiger was shot numerous times. He was able to get himself to a neighbor's home where they called 9-11. Vigo County Sherriff John Marvel said Kiger was shot with a small caliber handgun.
Kiger died before rescue workers arrived. Police have not identified a suspect, but have said they are looking for a person of interest who may have been involved in the pitchfork incident with Kiger on Wednesday.
