WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WTAQ) - A 12-year-old girl has been injured on a ride at an amusement park at Wisconsin Dells. She fell about 40-feet before hitting the ground.

A safety net was positioned too close to the ground, and didn't catch her. The girl was seriously injured, but details of her injury were not released.

The girl was on a "free fall" ride at the Extreme World amusement park. On its website, the park describes the Terminal Velocity ride as a one-of-a-kind experience that offers an, "unattached, controlled free fall." People are outfitted in a special harness, taken up in an elevator, and then dropped straight down into a, "huge airtube supported net."
