TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ)-Duke Energy granted $20,000 to the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation.

It's overseeing efforts to find a new owner for Pfizer’s facilities and bring new jobs back to the area.

The county took ownership of that property last year.

In the late 1980's, PSI paid for a study for what is now the Vigo County Industrial Park.

PSI became Duke Energy.

And they hope today's grant will pay dividends for Vigo County just as their grant did 20 some years ago.

Duke Energy first presented a $10,000 check to the Rural Health Innovation Collaborative.

They will use that money to study the need for a life science-oriented business incubator in Terre Haute.

Duke Energy's $20,000 grant to the EDC will pay for survey and replatting work that's already happened at the former Pfizer property.
