TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) —A Terre Haute man arrested in August for battery on a police officer will serve a nine-year prison sentence.

According to the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, Daryl Ray Powers appeared earlier this week in Vigo Superior Court, where he was sentenced to eight years for felony battery. Powers will also serve a concurrent two-year sentence for class-D felony possession of methamphetamine. The court ordered powers to an additional one-year sentence in the Vigo County Jail for misdemeanor resisting law enforcement.
