ST. CHARLES, MO. (WIBQ)-The Indiana State women’s basketball team started postseason play with a victory over Southern Illinois in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament 73-57.

Led by Senior Kelsey Luna, the eighth-seeded Sycamores improve to 17-13 on the season. Luna chipped in 20 points for ISU, including 12-12 from the free throw line. Shannon Thomas also added her sixth double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Sycamores will face the regular season champion and number one seeded Illinois State tonight in the tournament quarterfinals. The Redbirds’ swept the Sycamores in the regular season series.
