COLDWATER (WTVB) - A Branch County man has been arrested in a computer internet sex crime sting. Thirty-one-year old Philip Knowlan of Ovid Township was booked yesterday at the Branch County jail on six counts in a warrant issued through the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. The alleged crimes occurred last summer. The warrant said Knowlan used the internet to communicate with an undercover agent he believed was a minor for the purpose of accosting for immoral purposes.

If convicted, Knowlan could be facing four to ten years on three of the charges, 2-to-4 years on two of the counts and the last count, a one year misdemeanor. Authorities say the incidents occurred between August second and August 12th of last year.
