Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) - A 19 year old man could spend 20 years in jail for engaging in a sexual relationship with his 16 year old girlfriend. Marcela DeLaCruz Jr was charged Monday in Sheboygan County Circuit Court to one misdemeanor count of sexual intercourse with a child and one felony count of sexual exploitation of a child after investigators found video of he and his girlfriend engaging in sexual activity. According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the girlfriend’s house last Tuesday as DeLaCruz was asleep in the bushes outside of the girlfriend’s house. When DeLaCruz was brought in for questioning, he had a number of electronic items with him, including an ipod, a digital camera and a laptop. In order to prove they were his, he turned them on, and allowed his probation agent to search the laptop, which is where the videos of the sexual activity were found. If convicted, DeLaCruz faces up to 50 years in prison.
