TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - A woman who allegedly let her dog starve to death and then disposed of the animal in a dumpster now faces criminal charges. Police believe 3-year-old Terrier Mix Lacy, died inside the apartment of Judy Walters and that the 59 year old woman then simply put the animal's remains in a trash bag and threw it out.
Walters reportedly told police that she thought the dog was sleeping and realized later it was dead. She says it was not intentional. However, police say what they found tells a different story. They say the dogs collar, which shows the animal's original size, indicates it was starved to death. Walters has been charged with animal cruelty.
