BRAZIL, Ind (WIBQ) - Earl is just now heading for a brush with the US east coast, and already a Hoosier couple is in place to help. Richard and Janet Atkins of Brazil volunteer with the American Red Cross and packed up this week to help with the aftermath of the hurricane.

First, they made the nearly one thousand mile trip to Massachusetts after being put on alert on Tuesday. The drove a huge Red Cross vehicle that would be the command center for the Boston area. Janet said that since weather watchers aren't exactly sure where Earl's going as it heads up the coast, they'll be ready to help if it turns left, and head home if it turns right.
