STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – A changing of the guard is underway in a Portage County office that works to reduce recidivism and coordinate other justice issues.
Longtime justice programs director Kathy King will retire Friday. County executive Patti Dreier said Monday that she would appoint Ross Dick to fill the vacancy.
The county board will vote on Dick’s appointment February 21st.
Dick is the county’s juvenile detention administrator. He’s also been a delinquent youth case manager and oversaw the county’s halfway house for adult offenders.
“Ross is highly regarded,” Dreier said in a statement. “He has the right combination of knowledge, skills and experience with our local justice system…to help us move forward.”
