The bar has been raised for some Valley schools as President Obama announced that Indiana has been granted a No Child Left Behind Act waiver. This requires that every student be proficient in reading and math by 2014. The waiver allows schools to evaluate students more closely, but also puts more emphasis on the students ability to pass tests rather than aiming at making progress. Indiana was one of ten states to receive the waiver Thursday.
