A recent shooting outside of The Event on Wabash Avenue was the last straw for the Terre Haute Police, who are now looking to shut down the party venue. Police claim that they have had several issues with the people and crowds at the establishment although James Porter, the organizer of The Event, feels he’s offering a safe venue for parties. Police say the crowds cause a safety issue and are asking the prosecutor to get involved in shutting down the local party spot.
